Q.

Whenever a revolutionary product is designed that changes the way an entire industry functions, many people are inclined to ask questions such as "why has someone not invented this already" or "how is it that you are the only one who thought of it"?
These are fair questions. In the case of Conforce, the answer is simple ... extensive experience combined with the ability and willingness to change the way it is, for the way it should be. In 1956, Malcolm McLean, founder of the Sea-Land Corporation, realized that rather than loading and unloading trucks at the dock for shipments overseas, the truck itself could become the storage container that would be transported. Through this simple observation, containerized shipping was born. Today, no matter where you are, if you look around, just about everything you see or feel spends some time in a container. It is estimated that over 90% of world trade, measured by value, is transported in shipping containers. Everything from coffee to computers travels via containers. Surprisingly, this enormous and vital industry is still in its infancy at less than 50 years old. Management of Conforce has been in this industry repairing, selling and storing containers for over 25 of the above-mentioned 50 years. Much the same way that Malcolm McLean saw the inefficiency in the transportation of goods in the 1950's, Marino Kulas, President and CEO of Conforce International, observed that a fundamentally simple replacement of the current wood container floor would greatly enhance the performance, while reducing its ultimate cost. Thus in 2001, Conforce embarked on the research and development of its industry altering, new flooring system. The result is EKO-FLOR, an environmentally friendly floor replacement system made from a unique and proprietary composite designed to specifically reduce operating costs for the customer, while enhancing the total versatility of the shipping container.

A.

  fact

In 2004, over 58 million containers passed through the ports of China. By 2010, that number is expected to be over 120 million.
In the end, the simplest answer for Conforce remains an integral part of their mission - commitment, innovation, integrity = positive change for the world we leave behind.
