A revolutionary composite flooring system that will change the way containers and highway trailers are made, worldwide. As part of the official introduction, the product was featured at the Conforce pavillion at the 2006 Intermodal Conference in Hamburg Germany in December. The company officially launched EKO-FLOR at the 2007 Intermodal Show in Amsterdam.
In development since 2001, EKO-FLOR is a unique composite material developed by Conforce in order to replace the hard-wood floors that are currently used in containers and highway trailers. The product is fully certified by the American Bureau of Shipping for use in containers worldwide. Customer evaluations of the product began in March 2008.
The highly anticipated EKO-FLOR offers numerous advantages to the industry such as:
Creates an unequalled, sanitized environment uniquely suited for food-grade delivery. Since marine shipping containers are the number one mode of transportation worldwide, it is of no surprise that cargo alternates from chemicals to food-stuffs. Therefore, contamination of wood floors is possible due to odour and residue absorption. EKO-FLOR does not absorb odours or residue, therefore mitigating the risk of contamination. As a result, EKO-FLOR equipped containers create, for the multi-national container corporations, a larger available fleet from which to draw, thus diminishing logistical inefficiencies and the increasing costs associated with same;
Downstream savings to shipping lines through fewer overall repairs, faster repair times which equals reduced billable service hours, fleet versatility, and increased service life of container;
The environmentally friendly EKO-FLOR reduces the needless elimination of our Earth's depleting supply of trees.
